Liver Elastography
Elastography has been used to evaluate liver stiffness for more than 10 years.

Chronic liver damage results in the liver becoming stiffer than normal. Elastography can be used to assess liver stiffness non-invasively by measuring tissue behaviour through either ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging.

There are two kinds of elastography:
Ultrasound Elastography
MRE (magnetic resonance elastography).
Only ultrasound elastography is currently offered at CGA Medical Imaging clinics.
